Sendai station is one of the major railway station in Japan, located in Miyagi prefecture. It is served by East Japan Railway company, Airport transit and subway. I used a bullet train from the Tokyo station to Sendai station. The station has a number of facilities ranging from, major shopping areas, convenience stores, restaurants and Hotel, coffee cafes among others. It's very busy especially morning and evening during the week days. I visited at a busy time after Typhoon Higibis which had led to closure of major transportation facilitied. This made the station very congested since it was opened for operation on the same day

I really love this train station. Orderly and organized well. The main hall is one of my favourite parts of the building. Lovely ceiling tiles and the upper floor Shinkansen level is visible from the street. There are also lots of shopping and restaurants here. Connected to the SPAL and various hotels. The pedestrian bridge connects you to Loft, Muji, Parco 1 and 2, and AER.

Oh WOW!Sendai has changed so much since the big Great Sendai Earthquake or Great Tōhoku Earthquake, mostly for the better...The Sendai Station is no exception. It's like a mini Tokyo station...now. Lots of places to eat, parking new hubs....From what I recall, the Sendai station is way bigger than it used to be.

Very nice station. Sprawling retail and food complex. Seems to be pretty new. All facilities are kept spotlessly clean. Good signage helps you navigate through the crowds. Separate gates for the Shinkansen and local lines make it easier to find where you need to be. Plenty of bus connections at opposite end of station while taxis are readily available. Great restaurants also. Can easily spend much time here

Sendai Station is the link to many JR, Subway & Bus, with a lots of entertainment around the station. You won't feel tried to explore there outlets, interesting products & many nices food surround. You would have found something you needs uopn your visit. Is a major connection point, so crowded and rushing.People travel here for many reasons, but you will be surprised as Japanese couture. They have maintain it so system and clean. Will the sign board to guide you through all platforms. Staff are able to spreak English which make you trip so much easier.

For its size and prominence, Sendai is definitely one of the most smartly laid out stations I've been through. It's very easy to navigate, with the train lines making up one half of the building and the entry area and shops forming the other half. There isn't a lot to see in the station itself beyond a startling number of gyutan restaurants, but as with any major train station there are plenty of restaurants and shopping centers just outside.

When arriving to Sendai Station from Tokyo, it didn't take long for me to realize that I was the only Westerner, at that moment, in the station. It was very different. While at the station, it seemed that more people were surprised to see me, and were also more curious. It was nice to see a different aspect of the country. The overall station is pretty huge, and they have a good amount of restaurants and shops to visit. One of Sendai's specialties is beef tongue. Yes, insane. You can find that in the station as well. Try it. They also have a tourist information center to help you explore Sendai. They also have some great sweets to try! It's pretty nice.

Great station which is easy to navigate unlike those huge stations in Tokyo. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the station. One could take shinkansen easily to all the major cities in tohuku region. There are also affordable hotels options near the Sendai station.

Extremely well serviced station, clerk at ticket office was quick, spoke enough English. There's plenty of food options, most things are written in English too, and the sweets section is just divine. What I thought it lacked is hang-out areas to wait for your train without having to sit in and purchase something to eat/drink, but maybe we just didn't find it.

Questions & Answers

There were also inside and outside the station. There is a charge. You can also use cash and PASMO.

I do not know because it is a user of Shinkansen & rental car. I have never been snowed, but my tire for rent-a-car was studless.

The Tohoku Shinkansen is the Yabusa.

Beef tonged lunch ← It is common but other fratted lunch is like Sendai.

You can use it.

Miyagi Kotsu buses are available to Akiu Onsen, but the number is small. If you go by bus, you should check the departure time.

Is there such a thing? ?I've heard of the Akagi Onsen hot spring.

Maybe it's possible to enter the platform about 40 minutes before the departure of the first train! It may be a few minutes behind the arrival of the last train (stay time at the platform) Sorry for the rough answerq
